For most of us, cocktail hour means ingesting substances that leave us feeling worse for wear the next day. Lemon Lion Bitters
Dandelion tea with a dash of lemon
Take a gulp on the wild side by brewing dandelion tea with a generous squeeze of lemon. This distinctly bitter tea stimulates your liver and pancreas to draw out toxins from your digestive tract, which translates to more frequent and efficient loo time. Cause, when the party’s over, it’s best to make a clean exit.
Old Fashioned with a Twist
1 tsp. apple cider vinegar, drizzle of Manuka honey, grated ginger, hot water, dash of cayenne pepper
It may be daggy compared to sexy superfoods like Noni juice, but apple cider vinegar is a tonic that’s been used for centuries and will continue to live on forever like visions of Leonardo Dicaprio’s smile (as in, both will give you a boost in spirits). Be seduced by its blood sugar lowering effects and ability to break down mucus.
Yep, sexy stuff for those who suffer from diabetes or sinus congestion. Paired with the healing miracle worker Manuka honey and another old school favourite, ginger, and you’ve got a seriously loaded immunity and wellbeing shot. A dash of cayenne pepper will also give your metabolism an extra kick.
Activated Dark ‘n Stormy
1 tsp. activated charcoal, H20, pinch of Himalayan salt
When a toxic storm is brewing in your insides, activated charcoal is your go-to healing and detoxifying agent. The black carbon-based substance works by binding to toxic positively charged ions (like toxic metals) to purify your inner ecosystem on a molecular level.
It’s like a trickster bestie that befriends your enemies only to deviously steer them out of your gut. Add a pinch of pink Himalayan salt for extra minerals. So, if you think you could do with a bit of an internal sweep for better digestion, improved skin conditions and general anti-aging upkeep, come on over to the dark side.
1 tsp. bentonite clay, H2O
So the name needs some work, but I want to bring home the badass internal cleansing effects of bentonite clay. It’s negatively charged molecules “adsorp” the nasties hanging in your gut, like toxic metals mercury, cadmium, benzene and lead. As the healing clay passes through your intestinal tract it attracts and binds with positively charged toxins, sweeping them out of your behind like the ass-tounding compound it is.
With its digestive prowess, it’s no wonder bentonite clay is often used to treat constipation, gas, and bloating. You’d think this mudslide would be akin to swallowing dirt, but the taste is actually very subtle and goes down with as much ease as it comes out.

I’ll try to keep this PG, but it’s going to be hard with maca and cacao involved. Maca, a root herb, hails from the mystical Andes mountains in Peru. You’ll typically find it in dry powder form at your health food store. Commonly used for balancing hormones, the maca plant is also consumed for its libido-boosting powers. Because of its nutty flavour, it’s often combined with cacao, another substance that will surely get you in the mood.
We add cinnamon for its ability to spice up any tincture, and we all know coconut oil does not mess around when it comes to being awesome in every respect – rumour has it, increasing sex drive is among its many talents. So knock this pseudo-tipple together and enjoy the one time it’s perfectly acceptable to hop in the driver’s seat under the influence and take a ride… Bottoms up.
